The studio walls are covered with Styrofoam that has been hand carved, painted a sand stone color and weathered with black paint. The reliefs were crafted with a Dremel drill fitted with a circular wire brush attachment. Each of the hieroglyphs were first sketched out on the foam and then carved with a basic soldering iron.

To achieve a weathered stone look, the Styrofoam is painted a sandstone color and then sponged down with black paint

The mural on the closet blind was drawn by tracing an image that was projected by an overhead projector.

Each point of light is a group of fiber optic strands. The galaxies were painted with UV paint that only appear with black lights.

step1 Step 1. Cut styrofoam sheets to the desired size

Step 2. Using a soldering iron, melt the borders between the bricks and carve artwork.

Step 3. Sand the surface to make it smooth.

Step 4. Paint the entire surface with sandstone colored paint.

Step 5. Paint the cracks between the brinks with black paint.

Step 6. Using a sponge and water, smear the back paint from the cracks over the entire surface creating a weathered look

Columns and the wall panels  are made in a similar fashion except multiple sheets of foam are glued together to give the column, more depth.
